Smart UJI Augmented Reality

Applying ESRI technologies we have created an augmented reality browser using Metaio. It helps the user to move around the UJI facilities in a very intuitive way. Thanks to augmented reality, the user can easily follow a route to reach their destination in an immersive and very intuitive way. With a geoprocessing tool, the best route between the user and their destination is calculated. This geoprocess returns a matrix of XY coordinates indicating the position of each part of the route. Several 3D models are placed at these points to show users the route they must follow to reach their destination. It is a prototype that works in outdoor environments but in the near future it will also work in indoor environments, allowing users to move throughout the campus.
